Are all batteries the same?
This is a science here and this is one aspect of the old adage - "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR". The whole science behind a deep cycle battery is the lead in it. The more lead, the more charging capability, the more run time. Cheaper batteries like the Costco's battery have less lead than the Cadillac of batteries U.S. or Trojan batteries. A Costco Battery can weigh almost 15 pounds lighter than a U.S. or Trojan. This equates to less run time and less power to all the electrical components. This means that the cheaper batteries put more of a strain on the electrical components and they wear out faster. U.S. batteries have diamond plates and Trojan have glass plates. U.S. batteries and Trojan are on par with each other for performance and you can save some money with the US battery because you are not paying for the Trojan name.
How long will my batteries last?
If taken care of properly, batteries should last between 7-10 years.

While tap water may not cause an immediate battery failure, any impurities in the water can interfere with the chemical reaction that is taking place inside the battery. For optimal battery life and performance, it is recommended to use distilled water.
How often do I need to add water to my batteries?
Water consumption in batteries is directly related to the battery usage and charging so the intervals in which water is required will vary for each customer. We recommend that the battery water level is checked more frequently at the beginning – about every 2 weeks. You will quickly learn how often water is needed.
Is there regular maintenance for an electric cart?
Too many people are under the assumption that there is no maintenance with an electric-FALSE!! Far less maintenance than gas carts but you will still have to grease the front end, check the rear end bi-annually or yearly and check the batteries and water if needed. Also tighten and clean the electric posts and cables, keep them free from corrosion or your cables will get weak and break and the cart won't run!

What is that white stuff on my battery post?
That’s corrosion. You will need to clean it off because if it builds up it may cause the battery cables to lose contact with the battery and keep your cart from running.
My charger gets really hot and gives off a bad smell, is that normal?
It is normal for a charger to get a little warm and maybe a bit hot from time to time as it's working. Sometimes there may even be an odor. It really depends on the battery charger and how long it's been running and how hard it has to work. The charger may get hot from time to time depending on how far the batteries were discharged and how long it takes to bring the batteries back up to 100% charged. But here are a few general tips to keep the charger from overheating:
